Zelenskyy reacts sharply to Trump’s decision
The process of easing US sanctions against Russia will continue, and the diesel deal was only the first step.
TodayPress TV reports, citing UNIAN, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made the remarks.
“Unfortunately, they will not be able to stop Putin this way. On the contrary, he is happy to receive this kind of support,” Zelenskyy said.
He also expressed hope that US President Donald Trump would do everything possible to stop Russia’s attacks.
Zelenskyy stressed that the war could not be brought to an end by easing pressure on Russia.
It should be noted that, several days before the “Lindsey Graham Act”, which envisages tougher sanctions against Russia and Iran, was due to take effect, US President Donald Trump signed a decision to exempt Moscow from the legislation.
Trump had also announced earlier that Russia would supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel to the global market.
