Could visa requirements with this country be abolished? Details of the agreement

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Humayun Kabir, Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

TodayPress TV reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the sides welcomed the successful outcomes of the 7th CICA Summit and discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, as well as cooperation within international and regional organisations.

The sides emphasised the importance of political dialogue and mutual visits between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh and considered opportunities to expand bilateral ties in various areas. They also highlighted the significance of an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic and service passports from visa requirements.

The meeting addressed the development of cooperation in energy, education, humanitarian affairs and other fields, the effective use of existing opportunities in these areas, and the strengthening of people-to-people ties.

The importance of cooperation and mutual support within the United Nations was also emphasised. The sides recalled with satisfaction a meeting with the President of the UN General Assembly, who is also Bangladesh’s foreign minister, and noted the need to continue joint efforts on multilateral platforms.

They also discussed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit to be hosted by Azerbaijan next year and opportunities for cooperation in this context.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the importance of cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement, including the activities of its Parliamentary Network and Youth Organisation. He stressed the need to further develop interparliamentary relations and contacts among young people through these mechanisms.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
