Political crisis in Poland: Constitutional Court president could face arrest
The issue of lifting the immunity of Bogdan Swieczkowski, president of Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, may be discussed at a general assembly of the court’s judges on november 17.
TodayPress TV reports that the court’s press service announced this.
It said that Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, who is temporarily serving as acting president of the Constitutional Tribunal, had convened a general assembly of judges for november 17. The meeting will consider motions submitted by the prosecutor general to lift the immunity of Bogdan Swieczkowski and Bartłomiej Sochański, deputy president of the court.
It should be noted that on november 6, Poland’s Supreme Court rejected appeals filed by Swieczkowski and his deputy against decisions to remove them from their judicial positions.
