Plane making emergency landing crashes into cars in Canada, killing woman

A small twin-engine aircraft collided with several cars while making an emergency landing on a highway in British Columbia, Canada, TodayPress TV reports, citing CBC.

A woman and her daughter were in one of the cars, and the mother died at the scene.

According to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, one of the aircraft’s engines failed. The plane had eight people on board. The pilot began the landing procedure and attempted to land the aircraft on a road near the city of Prince George. “Bild” reports that drivers saw the aircraft too late, and its wing struck several cars.

“It suddenly appeared directly above my head. I tried to move out of the way, but the wing completely destroyed the roof of the car,” one of the surviving drivers, Jamie Poliuk, said.
