The Houthis have threatened to strike the Suez Canal amid rising tensions in the Red Sea and around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Reuters.

It is also reported that Egypt, in cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the US Central Command, is planning to wrest control of several Saudi-owned islands in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait from the Houthis.

It should be noted that the Suez Canal is one of the main routes for international maritime trade.
