From Real Madrid to Getafe: Experienced star joins new club

Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal will continue his career at Getafe.

The contract signed between the parties runs until June 30, 2027. In its official statement, the club highlighted the achievements the experienced footballer has accumulated throughout his career:

“Throughout his career, Dani Carvajal has won 29 titles with Real Madrid’s first team and the Spain national team. These include six UEFA Champions League titles and the European Championship title he won with Spain in 2024.

“On behalf of Getafe CF, we welcome Dani Carvajal and wish him great success in this new chapter of his career. Welcome to the Coliseum, Dani!”

It should be noted that Spanish media had previously reported that La Liga was blocking Carvajal’s transfer because of a reportedly suspiciously low salary offer. The league’s Economic Committee had refused to register the deal, citing the possibility of a breach of financial fair play rules. However, the parties ultimately managed to resolve the issue.
