Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev has reported that two vessels in the Black Sea were attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), one of which sank.

TodayPress TV reports, citing the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

Eight Azerbaijani citizens were among the crew members aboard one of the vessels.

According to Radev, the Malta-flagged vessel Chelsea 3 was attacked by three UAVs 18 nautical miles east of the Bulgarian town of Byala.

“Another attack on merchant vessels in the immediate vicinity of Bulgarian territorial waters is absolutely unacceptable,” the prime minister said.

All 15 crew members, including seven Ukrainian and eight Azerbaijani citizens, were rescued. Five of them sustained minor injuries.

According to Radev, the second vessel was attacked 17 nautical miles east of the settlement of Krapets and sank. One of its crew members was rescued.

The prime minister added that Bulgaria would seek international assistance to determine which country the UAV belonged to. At the same time, he stressed that Sofia currently had no evidence to accuse any party.
