US “reaches out” to Ankara: Turkish bank hit by sanctions
The United States has added Turkish bank “Golden Global” and its subsidiaries to its sanctions list related to Iran.
TodayPress TV reports that the relevant notice was published on the website of the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The sanctions apply not only to the financial institution itself but also to two of its entities based in Türkiye.
At the same time, the US Department of the Treasury has issued a general license allowing US persons until September 19 to carry out transactions necessary to wind down financial operations involving “Golden Global.”
