Ilham Aliyev congratulates Iraqi president: “We will make joint efforts to expand cooperation”

President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter to Iraqi President Nizar Amedi.

TodayPress TV reports that the letter reads:

“Dear Mr. President,

On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Iraq, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you personally and, through you, to the entire people of Iraq, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.

I believe that we will make joint efforts to further strengthen Azerbaijan-Iraq interstate relations and expand our cooperation in line with the interests of our friendly peoples.

On this joyous occasion, I wish you good health, happiness and success in your work, and lasting peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Iraq.”
