Japanese automakers Toyota and Honda have announced the suspension of operations at their factories in Thailand due to widespread flooding.

TodayPress TV reports, citing The Nation, that the companies have halted production at several facilities.

“The company is temporarily suspending operations at its plants in Prachinburi and Ayutthaya from October 2 to 6, 2026, because component suppliers have been unable to deliver the parts required for vehicle production due to flooding, particularly from the provinces of Chonburi and Rayong,” the newspaper quoted Koji Iwanami, head of Honda’s Thailand division, as saying.

According to the newspaper, Toyota Motor’s Thailand division has suspended operations at three assembly plants in Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao provinces. In addition, Toyota Auto Works, a subsidiary of the company, has decided to close its assembly plant.

The company cited flooding as the cause of supply disruptions and said the shutdowns would be temporary until alternative transportation routes could be found.
