US-Ukraine fund closes first critical minerals investment deal
The US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund has concluded its first investment deal in the critical minerals sector.
TodayPress TV reports, citing Reuters, that a representative of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) announced the development.
According to Connor Coleman, head of the DFC’s investment division, the total value of projects to be implemented under the agreement could reach $70 million.
The report states that approximately $30 million is planned to be invested in a joint investment platform with Ukraine’s BGV Group.
At the initial stage, the platform is expected to focus on developing deposits of rare earth metals, uranium, beryllium and zirconium.
It should be noted that the United States and Ukraine signed a minerals agreement on May 1, 2025. The agreement provides for the establishment of an investment fund to finance joint projects in the extractive industries.
Under the agreement, projects involving the development and exploitation of Ukraine’s oil, gas and other natural resources are also planned.
