US sanctions Turkish bank over Iran
The United States has added Türkiye’s Golden Global Bank and its subsidiaries to its sanctions list as part of measures against Iran.
TodayPress TV reports that a relevant notice has been published on the website of the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The sanctions apply not only to the bank itself but also to two of its subsidiaries operating in Türkiye.
At the same time, the US Department of the Treasury has issued a general license authorizing US individuals and legal entities until September 19 to carry out transactions necessary to wind down financial operations with Golden Global Bank.
Being placed on the sanctions list means that the bank’s assets in the United States will be frozen, while US citizens and companies will be prohibited from establishing business relations with it.
