Tirana named Europe’s most affordable holiday destination
Albania’s capital, Tirana, has been named the most affordable holiday destination in Europe, TodayPress TV reports.
According to Euronews, Thomas Cook examined more than 50 popular tourist destinations to identify cities where accommodation costs less than €100 per night in September.
Tirana topped the list. The average cost of a hotel room for one night is €32, while dinner at an inexpensive restaurant costs €8.50.
Bucharest, the capital of Romania, ranked second. The top five also included Warsaw in Poland, as well as Antalya and Istanbul in Türkiye.
In Istanbul, an overnight stay costs an average of €28 per person. A meal at an inexpensive restaurant costs around €8–9.
The ranking also includes Muğla in Türkiye; Kraków in Poland; Vilnius in Lithuania; Frankfurt in Germany; Lyon in France; Tallinn in Estonia; Heraklion in Greece; and Porto in Portugal.
Thus, Tirana is considered the most affordable option for those looking to enjoy a reasonably priced holiday in Europe in September.
