Pashinyan shakes up the agenda: “We did not include Karki in our territory”

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the village of Karki is not part of Armenian territory, TodayPress TV reports.

Speaking to journalists, Pashinyan stressed that he was referring specifically to Karki, rather than “Tigranashen.”

He said Armenia’s territory covers 29,743 square kilometers and that Karki and the other enclaves were not included in this calculation.

The prime minister noted that despite Armenians living in Karki, the village is not part of Armenian territory. He said tensions surrounding the issue would subside and that the problem would be resolved in the best possible way.

Pashinyan also said that Armenia’s position on the issue was not contrary to the country’s interests, but was precisely in line with them.

It should be noted that Armenians refer to the Azerbaijani village of Karki as “Tigranashen.” Pashinyan previously acknowledged that the villages of Bəhrudarlı and Yuxarı Əskipara also belong to Azerbaijan.
