Kyiv raises sanctions alarm: Missile components supplied to Russia through third countries
The share of US components in Russian ballistic missiles has reached its highest level since the start of the full-scale war. Ukraine plans to increase sanctions pressure and shut down supply channels through third countries, TodayPress TV reports, citing TSN.
This was stated by Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian president’s commissioner for sanctions policy.
“American microelectronics still form the backbone of Russian ballistic missiles. Currently, the share of US components in Russian ballistic missiles is at its highest level throughout all the years of the full-scale war,” he said.
To address the issue, the official announced that he would make a working visit to the United States.
The main purpose of the visit is to promote a special restrictive bill that would help completely block channels for the supply of critical components to Russia through third countries, including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and others.
In addition, Ukraine has proposed that the European Union adopt an initiative in September referred to as an “interim sanctions package”.
The proposal concerns special “anti-ballistic restrictions” intended to deal a serious blow to enterprises and companies involved in the production of ballistic missiles.
