Around 4,000 NATO headquarters specialists are taking part in the large-scale Avenger Triad exercises, which simulate the operations of a military formation comprising up to 20,000 troops.

TodayPress TV reports, citing DPA, that the stated aim of the manoeuvres is to develop a rapid response to a potential crisis in the region stretching from North Cape in Norway to the Black Sea.

According to reports, one of the main command hubs for the simulation exercises has been established at the headquarters of US Army Europe and Africa in Wiesbaden, in the German state of Hesse. The latest technologies for coordinating troops using artificial intelligence (AI) in a closed environment are being tested there.

As Brigadier General Thomas Lovin explained, military commanders use this information to select the data needed to make decisions. Close technical and personnel cooperation between the armed forces of the United States and other NATO member states is considered a key factor.

The command and control centre in Wiesbaden operates around the clock, with up to 150 NATO military personnel assigned to it. During the exercises, particular attention is being paid to ensuring full technical interoperability between the communications and command systems of the United States and other alliance members.

According to German military specialists assigned from NATO’s Allied Land Command in Türkiye, the current level of equipment integration is unprecedented and comprehensive. They also noted that there are no language barriers among the contingents from the United States, Denmark, Italy, Poland and Germany. The American side has a significant advantage in the technological support of headquarters operations.
