How can the Caspian Sea be protected? President Aliyev sounds the alarm

“Protecting the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea is a shared responsibility of all Caspian littoral states.”

TodayPress TV reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks during an expanded session of the Caspian Environmental Summit in Turkmenbashi.

Emphasising that Caspian littoral countries have established a broad legal framework in recent years, the head of state said that Azerbaijan is a party to almost all international legal instruments involving the five Caspian states.

President Ilham Aliyev also highlighted the historic significance of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, signed in 2018, noting that it was the result of many years of joint efforts by the five Caspian littoral states.
