The health of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has reportedly deteriorated significantly in recent weeks.

According to TodayPress TV, the country’s local newspaper Hraparak reported the development.

The report states that the head of state most recently failed to attend scheduled events on October 27. He also reportedly missed several events held in Yerevan as part of the COP-17 climate summit.

The newspaper also reported that Khachaturyan was absent from a welcoming ceremony for high-level guests from Spain and Saudi Arabia yesterday.

“According to the information we have received, the president is often not even at his residence. Khachaturyan has had health problems for a long time. People have noticed significant changes in his appearance,” Hraparak wrote.

It should be noted that Armenian media previously reported that Vahagn Khachaturyan was suffering from an oncological disease and had undergone surgery.
