Andriy Pyshnyi, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), has submitted his resignation.

TodayPress TV reports, citing a source in the banking sector, that the information was published by Delo.ua.

According to the source, Pyshnyi submitted his resignation voluntarily for health reasons. His departure is reportedly planned for after he returns from the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Bangkok.

Potential successors to Pyshnyi reportedly include NBU First Deputy Governor Serhiy Nikolaychuk, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and NBU Council member Vasyl Horbal.

It should be noted that today, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) conducted searches at the NBU’s headquarters and at the home of one of the bank’s employees. NABU stated that no one had been detained and no one had been notified of suspicion during the searches. The NBU, meanwhile, said it was continuing to operate normally.
