Arsenal manager wishes his counterpart a speedy recovery
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to reports that Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany could miss the UEFA Champions League league-phase match between the teams due to health issues, TodayPress TV reports.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of the third-round fixture, Arteta spoke highly of his counterpart.
“I hope he recovers quickly and is able to be at the game. I’m a huge admirer of his, first and foremost as a person, because I had the opportunity to work with him for several years. Then, as a coach — what he has done in Belgium, at Burnley, and the identity and quality he has established at his team in recent years are on a completely different level. I have a great deal of respect for him,” Arteta said.
The Bayern Munich–Arsenal match is scheduled to take place today at 22:00 Baku time.
