Real Madrid signed the African player from RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window. The transfer cost €125 million, but the footballer has started only two matches since the beginning of the season.

“Nothing changes. Even though I don’t play often at the club, I train hard; the training sessions there are very intense. It’s good that the coach believes in me and gives me playing time. I like being under pressure; it forces me to give my maximum.

“Besides, I play for a club where high standards are the norm. Forget about all the ‘superstar’ talk — I’m still the same person I was before. Maybe I’m a star to you, but to myself, I’m still the same person,” Diomande said.
