Ilham Aliyev: “We will not allow anyone to come between Azerbaijan and Turkey”
“No one can come between Azerbaijan and Turkey.”
TodayPress TV reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks during a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Shusha.
“Our unity and brotherhood are unshakable. Those who seek to undermine them will never achieve their goals. Their wishes will remain unfulfilled. We are protecting this treasure. The two peoples, first and foremost, and the two leaders - we will not allow anyone to come between us or cast a shadow over our unity, brotherhood and solidarity for the sake of their own personal interests”,- the President said.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the 44-day Patriotic War once again demonstrated the unity between Turkey and Azerbaijan:
“Seven months later, the historic Shusha Declaration was signed here in Shusha, officially elevating our relations to the level of an alliance. In fact, we had always been allies. The peoples of Turkey and Azerbaijan are brotherly nations. I have said many times that there are no peoples or states in the world as closely connected as ours”.
