Iranian aircraft seized in Istanbul

An aircraft belonging to Iran’s Caspian Airlines has been seized at Istanbul Airport due to a €3 million debt.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Ölkə.az, that legal proceedings have been initiated against Caspian Airlines, which operates flights from Istanbul Airport to Iran, over its debt to a monitoring company.

Due to the company’s €3 million debt, lawyers representing the creditor company and court enforcement officers who arrived at Istanbul Airport demanded that the aircraft registered as EP-KPB, which was preparing to fly to Iran, be prevented from departing.

The officers subsequently ordered the passengers to disembark. The passengers were taken to the terminal, while the aircraft was seized.
