“They will have to lick their palms” – Athens’ shocking plan against Ankara leaked

The Greek media has raised a scenario involving a preemptive strike in the event of a possible military confrontation with Türkiye. The Ta Nea newspaper reported on the matter. The scenario outlines several stages, beginning with monitoring Türkiye’s military preparations and extending to strikes against air bases and airborne forces. The article claims that such an operation would be aimed at gaining a military advantage in the first hours of a war.

The question is: What is Greece’s objective? Is any kind of attack expected in the near future?

Political analyst Natiq Miri spoke to TodayPress TV about the issue.

He noted that such plans can be published in newspapers and that, theoretically, certain leaks, including the transfer of information to the media, are possible. However, from a practical standpoint, he said, these are matters beyond Greece’s capabilities:

“Because Türkiye has now reached such a level in terms of its military-industrial complex that even the world’s leading countries are surprised by its capabilities. Therefore, attacking Türkiye would be almost tantamount to an act of suicide.

For example, let us assume that in four or five years, under an agreement between Greece and Israel, certain air defence systems will be supplied from Israel to Greece. However, those implementing and promoting such plans fail to take into account that Türkiye already possesses the technology and military strength to paralyse and neutralise Greece’s military capabilities within a short period of time.”

He stressed that, considering drones of various types, air defence systems, electronic warfare and radio-electronic warfare capabilities, fighter aircraft, including fast unmanned combat aircraft such as Kızılelma, as well as other systems with multifunctional strike capabilities, the resulting military potential is considerable:

“Imagine thousands, or even tens of thousands, of small and large unmanned aerial vehicles taking to the skies simultaneously and launching attacks from different directions. In the face of such an attack, whether any state could withstand it for a long time would be a serious question.

Moreover, the effectiveness of the air and missile defence systems that Greece plans to acquire from Israel in several years is also a separate question. This is because Türkiye’s military capabilities are likely to develop further by the time those systems are delivered to Greece. In that case, the air and missile defence systems on which Greece will spend billions of dollars may fail to deliver the expected level of effectiveness. Apparently, these factors should also be taken into account when such agreements are concluded.”

The analyst said that Türkiye adds modern weapons systems of various levels and functions to its inventory every month and every week:

“Rest assured that the information made public about this is only a small part of the capabilities that actually exist. In other words, Türkiye is also strengthening its military power through undisclosed projects and capabilities. From this perspective, I believe Greece’s four-stage attack operation against Türkiye may remain only on paper.

If they want more than that, I think they will have to lick their palms. Everyone serious in Greece, including military personnel, politicians and journalists, knows and understands this very well. Therefore, I believe that Greece does not have the capability to directly confront Türkiye.”
