Tokayev fires defence minister after Caspian Sea tragedy
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has dismissed Defence Minister Dauren Kosanov following the deaths of 14 servicemen during exercises in the Caspian Sea.
TodayPress TV reports that the presidential press service announced this.
It should be noted that Kosanov began heading the defence ministry in 2025 and was reappointed to the position in September.
The tragedy occurred on September 24 while a training and combat mission was being carried out.
