Thailand hit by floods! – Death toll rises sharply

The death toll from flooding in Thailand has risen from 23 to 40.

TodayPress TV reports that the information was provided by Ekkahapop Phienphiset, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom.

According to him, the floods have affected an area of approximately 2,700 square kilometres, with the provinces in the central part of the country being the hardest hit.

It should be noted that the consequences of the flooding in Thailand have affected more than 2.6 million residents of the kingdom. The flooding situation has worsened amid seasonal monsoon rains.

Due to incessant heavy rainfall, a disaster emergency was declared in Bangkok on September 26. The natural disaster affected approximately 329,000 households, or nearly 700,000 people. Following the cessation of the rain, floodwaters have now largely receded in the capital.
