New details emerge about incident on FZ1073 flight

New details have emerged about the incident involving FlyDubai flight FZ1073, which made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, TodayPress TV reports.

According to the information, the aircraft began rapidly losing altitude when the crew was attacked. The descent rate exceeded 150 metres per second, or approximately 567 kilometres per hour. The aircraft lost around 4.5 kilometres in altitude in just 29 seconds.

A tragedy was prevented after crew members and passengers intervened. They entered the cockpit and restrained the attacker.

According to media reports and Telegram channels, the incident is being investigated by Israeli security services as a possible planned large-scale terrorist attack. The attacker, reportedly a pilot, is said to have been interrogated. According to the preliminary version, his aim may have been to deliberately crash the aircraft.

Following the incident, security measures have been tightened at Ben Gurion Airport. All arriving FlyDubai flights, as well as aircraft arriving from the UAE, are being directed to a designated area for additional security checks.
