Canadian Jews urgently considering moving to the US
A sharp increase in antisemitic incidents in Canada has prompted some Jews living in the country to consider the possibility of moving to the United States.
TodayPress TV reports, citing The Jerusalem Post, that amid recent attacks on synagogues and growing tensions in society, some members of the Jewish community have said they no longer feel as safe in Canada as they once did.
According to the report, the situation is further compounded by economic difficulties and reports of increasing intolerance.
The possibility of Canadian Jews relocating has also drawn the attention of US politicians. Florida Senator Scott, Oklahoma Governor Stitt and US President Donald Trump have previously discussed the possibility of granting asylum or refugee status to Canadian Jews concerned about their safety.
