Ship disaster deepens: International investigation demanded

Syria has called for an international investigation into the sinking of a vessel off the coast of Bulgaria.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Reuters, that Syria has appealed to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Bulgarian authorities, calling for an independent investigation into the sinking of the “Alfa Watan” cargo ship.

Ten crew members went missing after the vessel was targeted in a drone attack. Nine of them are reportedly Syrian nationals.

A Syrian official called for all available technical means to be used to locate the wreckage of the vessel.

The Togo-flagged “Alfa Watan” sank in the early hours of October 6, approximately 130 kilometers off the Bulgarian coast.
