Xabi Alonso is after his former player: Chelsea and Real Madrid go head-to-head!

Bayer Leverkusen and England defender Jarell Quansah has attracted the attention of Real Madrid.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Bild, that scouts from the Spanish giants are closely monitoring the Liverpool academy graduate, who joined the German club for €35 million last summer.

According to the source, Real Madrid’s interest in Quansah is driven by the club’s expected need to sign at least two new defenders in the summer.

In addition, Liverpool have the option to buy the defender back for €70 million until June 15, 2027.

Chelsea, coached by former Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, are also reportedly closely interested in Quansah. Another London club, Arsenal, attempted to sign the player in August but were rejected, with Bayer turning down a €65 million offer.
