Shehbaz Sharif seeks support from Ilham Aliyev
On October 10, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
TodayPress TV reports that during the phone conversation, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of friendly, brotherly and strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. They also highlighted the role of regular high-level meetings and consultations in further strengthening bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif once again emphasised that the people of Pakistan hold President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people in high esteem.
During the conversation, the sides stressed the importance of complementing the existing high-level political relations with expanded cooperation in the economic, trade and investment sectors.
Pakistan’s prime minister expressed satisfaction with the operation of a service centre established in Islamabad based on Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service model and requested Azerbaijan’s support in extending this experience to other regions of Pakistan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his readiness to provide the necessary support in this regard.
The Pakistani prime minister thanked the Azerbaijani head of state, describing Azerbaijan’s support as another clear example of the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
During the phone conversation, Pakistan’s recent diplomatic efforts to promote dialogue, mediation and de-escalation at the regional and international levels were commended.
The president and the Pakistani prime minister also exchanged views on issues on the bilateral and multilateral agendas, as well as the regional and international situation.
