Azerbaijan introduces new financing model for public schools

A new financing mechanism will be introduced in Azerbaijan’s public general education institutions, TodayPress TV reports.

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree in this regard.

Under the decree, starting from the 2026–2027 academic year, financing of public general education institutions from the state budget will be carried out gradually based on a per-capita financing principle.

At public general education institutions to be financed under the per-capita principle, an increasing coefficient for individual levels of general education will be applied to the annual education expenditure per student, depending on the type of general education institution.
