Poland is not creating a mercenary force in Ukraine, but...

Polish Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has commented on Polish mercenaries fighting alongside the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the war against Russia in Ukraine.

TodayPress TV reports that the minister denied reports that Warsaw was creating an “International Legion” from its own mercenaries.

During a briefing, journalists asked the minister whether reports that Poland was creating the aforementioned “International Legion” from its own mercenaries were true.

“This is not true. Poland is not involved in any such activity. If someone has voluntarily gone to Ukraine, that is their own decision,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

At the same time, the minister noted that Polish mercenaries fighting in Ukraine will henceforth be able to receive medical treatment in their home country. According to him, the relevant decision was unanimously adopted by the Polish parliament.
