US President Donald Trump has said that Yemen’s Houthis contacted Washington and told US officials that they do not want to go to war with the United States.

TodayPress TV reports that Trump made the remarks to journalists in Dublin.

According to the US leader, the Houthis said they did not want Washington to take military action against them and preferred the US not to intervene in the conflict.

Trump also responded to a question about whether Iran was involved in the attack on a major oil pipeline connecting the eastern and western parts of Saudi Arabia, saying, “It is probably responsible.”

The US President also touched on the situation in Iran, saying that the war would end soon. According to him, the confrontation involving Iran could end after the midterm elections to be held in the US in November.

Trump added that oil prices could fall sharply after the war ends.
