How can Europe protect Ukraine from Russian missiles?
Europe could provide Ukraine with advance warning of Russian missile attacks.
TodayPress TV reports that retired US Army General Ben Hodges, former commander of US Army Europe, has said European countries have the capability to warn Ukraine in advance of Russian ballistic missile attacks without relying on Washington.
According to Hodges, a significant portion of the intelligence used by the United States comes from allied countries. He noted that France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland and Finland have the capabilities to help Ukraine receive advance warnings of Russian ballistic missile launches.
The general believes that the main obstacle in this regard is not a lack of technology, but rather the political will to share intelligence.
According to Hodges, strengthening intelligence cooperation among European countries could play a crucial role in ensuring Ukraine’s security if intelligence sharing with the United States weakens. This could reduce Kyiv’s dependence on Washington while expanding its early-warning capabilities against Russian missile attacks.
