A tough week in the Strait of Hormuz: Attacks reach peak level
Attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz have increased.
TodayPress TV reports, citing Reuters, that the number of attacks on tankers in and around the Strait of Hormuz reached its highest weekly level since the US-Iran war began on February 28.
According to the report, at least 12 attacks on tankers carrying oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) were recorded between September 28 and October 5.
The increase in attacks has heightened security concerns surrounding shipping and energy transportation through the Strait of Hormuz.
