France recruits for its defence industry – 100,000 workers needed

The French authorities expect defence industry companies to be able to hire 100,000 people by 2030.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Le Figaro, that French Labour Minister Jean-Pierre Farandou has approved a plan to ensure employment with the support of France Travail, an organization that performs the functions of a public employment service. The publication clarifies that a working group has been established within the organization under the leadership of a retired general.

The authorities are preparing 15,000 training programs tailored to the needs of the defence sector. The newspaper recalls that, at the beginning of August, the Labour Minister identified as priorities the integration of young people into the labour market and enabling experienced workers to retain their jobs by adapting their skills to market needs, particularly in the fields of “nuclear energy, the environmental transition and the defence industry.”
