Military tensions in the Baltic Sea: Russian ambassador summoned to Foreign Ministry

Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Russia’s ambassador to Denmark, Vladimir Barbin, over an incident in international waters.

TodayPress TV reports that Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen made the statement. His remarks were published on the ministry’s social media account.

“According to information from the Danish Ministry of Defense, one of the Air Force helicopters came under fire from ‘decoy flares’ while taking planned photographs of a Russian frigate in waters near Gedser. This is completely unacceptable. Therefore, the Russian ambassador has been summoned for a conversation to obtain an explanation regarding the incident,” Rasmussen said.
