European Union (EU) ambassadors have agreed to extend the deadline for sanctions against Russia by one week in an effort to resolve disagreements over the restrictions.

TodayPress TV reports, citing diplomats, that the EUobserver portal reported this.

The publication recalled that Slovakia initially, followed by France, proposed removing Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov from the sanctions list, but other countries did not agree.

“This means that we agree that we cannot agree for one week,” the portal quoted one European diplomat as saying.
