US-Iran war reaches all the way to the store checkout

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has criticized Washington, describing the restrictions imposed by the United States on Iranian officials as “theatrical.”

TodayPress TV reports that Baghaei made the remarks in a post on the social media platform X.

He said that, on the one hand, the United States imposes sweeping sanctions on the Iranian economy, while on the other, it presents measures such as preventing Iranian officials from making purchases at wholesale stores in the US as serious actions.

“On one side is a ruthless economic war aimed at inflicting maximum pain and suffering on every Iranian, while on the other are theatrical measures being announced to prevent Iranian officials from shopping at a wholesale store in the United States,” Baghaei wrote.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Washington ignores sanctions affecting the livelihoods of an entire nation while simultaneously raising restrictions related to store membership cards.

Baghaei described US policy as “blatant and content-free propaganda.” He said this approach has led to the consequences of US policy toward Iran.
