More than 50% of Americans are prepared to support Democratic Party candidates in the US congressional midterm elections to be held on November 3.

TodayPress TV reports that this was revealed by a poll conducted by the Siena Research Institute at the request of The New York Times (NYT).

According to the results, 51% of respondents said they intend to support Democratic candidates, while 43% said they would vote for candidates from the US Republican Party.

NYT described the Democrats’ lead across almost the entire country as a “blue wave,” against the backdrop of low approval ratings for US President Donald Trump. His approval rating stands at just 38% ahead of the vote.

It should be noted that the congressional midterm elections will be held on November 3. In the elections, 33 of the 100 members of the Senate (upper chamber) and all 435 members of the House of Representatives (lower chamber) will be up for election. Republicans currently control both chambers of Congress.
