Former Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has been appointed to UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel for the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League season.

TodayPress TV reports, citing UEFA’s official website.

Slot took up the role four months after being dismissed by Liverpool on May 30. As part of a panel comprising 36 experts, he will analyse matches in European competitions, tactical trends and coaching developments, as well as prepare technical reports based on statistics and video footage.

The panel also includes Erik ten Hag, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank and Rafael Benítez. Slot’s new role does not involve coaching directly: he will not manage players or prepare a team for matches.

It is worth recalling that Arne Slot was appointed Liverpool head coach in 2024 and led the team to the Premier League title in the 2024/2025 season. Before that, he won the Dutch league title with Feyenoord and guided the team to the Europa Conference League final in 2022.
