Uli Hoeness, honorary president and a member of Bayern Munich’s Supervisory Board, has commented on goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s mistake in the Bundesliga’s fifth-round match against Augsburg, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Bayern & Germany, that Neuer’s costly error allowed Augsburg to open the scoring in the sixth second of the match, making it one of the fastest goals in Bundesliga history.

Asked by journalists whether Neuer’s era was over following his mistake against Augsburg, Hoeness responded sharply:

“No, absolutely not. Everyone is entitled to make mistakes sometimes. Moreover, I consider the artificial fuss surrounding Joshua Kimmich to be completely pointless. Players who are being excessively praised right now should first establish themselves as regular starters at their own clubs.”

It should be recalled that Bayern Munich managed to fight back and equalise at 2-2 after falling two goals behind in the dramatic encounter.
