New decision concerning Azerbaijanis in Northern Cyprus shipwreck case

The detention period of nine people, including three Azerbaijani citizens, in connection with the shipwreck off the coast of Northern Cyprus has been extended by another seven days.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Report, that the information was provided by Türkan Tahmazova, the sister of one of those detained, Rashad Ibrahimov.

The decision was made following another court hearing held as part of the investigation being conducted in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The next court hearing will be held on September 25.

It should be recalled that a vessel sank off the coast of Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus, on August 30. A total of 239 people were rescued. The death toll has reached 15, while the search for 13 missing passengers is continuing.
