Will Azerbaijan restore historical religious monuments in Armenia? — MP sends clear message

“If an opportunity arises, Azerbaijan is ready at any time to put forward its own initiatives to restore the historical and religious monuments located in the territory of present-day Armenia.”

TodayPress TV reports that MP and Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations Fazil Mustafa made the remarks at the conference titled “Preservation of Historical and Religious Monuments: Challenges and Prospects.”

Mustafa said that Azerbaijan is prepared to put forward initiatives in the future aimed at restoring historical and religious monuments located in the territory of present-day Armenia.

“In our discussions concerning Karabakh and Azerbaijan, if an opportunity arises, Azerbaijan is ready at any time to put forward its own initiatives to restore the historical and religious monuments located in the territory of present-day Armenia,” the MP said.

He stressed that after a major peace agreement is signed, work could be carried out to restore mosques and other historical and religious monuments in that territory.

“That is, after a major peace agreement is signed, we will also restore the mosques there, as well as the historical and religious monuments there, and ensure that they are, so to speak, returned to the people,” Fazil Mustafa said.
