Pashinyan sends peace message to Ilham Aliyev: “I would like to express my gratitude”

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his contribution to establishing peace in the South Caucasus.

TodayPress TV reports, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan made the remarks at a ceremony where he received the Hessian Peace Prize:

“I would also like to express my gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who is equally deserving of this award. I would also like to thank the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Despite the hardships, loss of life and suffering caused by the conflict, they accepted and supported peace, recognizing that while they cannot change the past, they can change the present and the future by choosing the prospect of peace, prosperity and cooperation instead of endless conflict.”
