The UN failed at the one thing it was supposed to do
The United Nations is failing to fulfil one of its fundamental responsibilities: protecting humanity from armed conflicts.
TodayPress TV reports that Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said this.
He stressed that public trust in the organization is at an extremely low level.
“We have all become hostages to the Security Council’s failure to fulfil its role,” he said during the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
