“He is playing with a €125 million price tag”: Mourinho makes striking remarks

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has shared his thoughts on the development of young attacking midfielder Yan Diomande following the team’s 4–1 victory over Sevilla in the ninth round of La Liga.

TodayPress TV reports that Mourinho made the comments on the club’s official website.

The Portuguese coach said the young player still had a great deal to learn. Despite his considerable potential, Diomande was not yet a finished product, while expectations at Real Madrid were exceptionally high.

According to Mourinho, the youngster is not simply playing with a number on his back; he is also carrying the responsibility associated with a €125 million transfer fee.

The coach noted that although Diomande frequently finds himself in dangerous areas, he needs to remain calmer in decisive moments, improve the quality of his final passes and work on his finishing.

Mourinho also recalled Vinícius Júnior’s early days at Real Madrid, emphasising how young players can develop patiently over several years and eventually become world-class stars.

It should be recalled that Diomande scored one goal and provided an assist in the match against Sevilla.
