President recalls Patriotic War: “Our patience ran out, and the time for reckoning had come”
President Ilham Aliyev has addressed the liberation of Azerbaijan’s territories from occupation during his speech at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
TodayPress TV reports that the head of state recalled that Armenia carried out military provocations in July and August 2020, resulting in the deaths of Azerbaijani servicemen. He said that, as a result, the Azerbaijani people’s patience had run out and the time for reckoning had come.
President Aliyev emphasised that the Patriotic War lasted 44 days. During that period, Azerbaijan drove Armenian occupying forces out of the occupied territories and liberated more than 300 cities and villages on the battlefield.
On November 10, 2020, Armenia signed a capitulation agreement.
