A provocation against Azerbaijan has been prevented as a result of measures taken by members of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Poland and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

TodayPress TV reports that after representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Poland shared information on social media about printed material depicting the emblem of the now-defunct separatist regime appearing on a product manufactured in Poland and available for sale locally, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Poland took measures to halt the production of the material and remove it from sale.

The embassy contacted Cezary Popiel, director of Henry, the company responsible for producing and selling the “product,” and conveyed Azerbaijan’s strong protest over the matter. The company representative said he had learned about the issue through social media and apologized for the mistake. He also emphasized that a decision had been made to halt the production and sale of the product in question.

At the embassy’s request, Cezary Popiel subsequently informed the diplomatic mission in writing. In his letter, he stated that the use of the “image” in the printed materials had not been deliberate or intentional and had occurred as a result of “human error” during the preparation of the print material. The letter also stated that sales of the printed product had been completely halted, all copies remaining in stock as well as those returned by customers would be removed from circulation and destroyed, and appropriate corrections had been made to prevent the use of the “image” in future printed materials.

In his letter to the embassy, Cezary Popiel emphasized his respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Poland expressed its gratitude to members of the Azerbaijani diaspora who identified the aforementioned provocation, drew the attention of the public in both countries to the issue through social media, and contacted the relevant authorities.
